Hawaiian style
Born and raised in Hawaii, the ocean has always been a major part of my life. My Mom pushed me on my first wave when I was 5 years old and I have been stoked ever since. Her brother Zoobadee was one of the original Waikiki Beach Boys and started the first surf club in Waikiki. I have been surfing and playing in the waters of Waikiki for 40 + years, so I understand the breaks well.
The meaning of aloha
Aloha is more than a greeting. Aloha means love, peace, kindness, treating others with respect. Aloha is a way of life; to live in harmony with people and the land. Growing up in Hawaii, aloha is embedded in my spirit and this is extended to every person that I meet. I love to share my culture and love for the ocean with people who visit our island
A lifetime of surfing
I love to surf and teach surfing. I have over 40 years of surfing experience, I started when I was 5 and have been addicted ever since! I’m like a big kid when I’m in the ocean and I believe the ocean keeps me young at heart. I particularly enjoy teaching children. I have 10 years experience giving surf lessons as a licensed instructor in Waikiki and I enjoy sharing the stoke with others and watching their faces light up as they catch their first wave.
Understanding the ocean
My experience in the ocean over the years has taught me how to read the waves which is one of the most important parts of surfing. Knowing where to be in the lineup, which waves to go for and when, means that you spend less time paddling and more time riding the waves. Stoked!
I have 10 years experience working on Waikiki beach as a fully licensed surf instructor.
